Based on your experience with CYA, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester or summer abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

Spending a Summer abroad allows you to experience a new culture and a different way of living than what you are used to. Spending the Summer abroad has allowed me to be more independent, showed me that I want to live abroad in the future, and has helped me figure out what I am interested in studying. It has also shown me that experiencing the culture is just as important as listening and going to class.

What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?

If you have studied abroad before, don't compare that experience to CYA. Come into this program willing to try new things and be open to anything. The cool thing about CYA is that there is a structure and rules that you have to follow but you also have so much freedom to travel or do whatever you want abroad.

Please select any of the following that apply to you, and that you would be willing to share about your CYA experience with other students:

Mental health while abroad

Favorite food in Greece?

Saganaki or Tzatziki

Favorite class you took at CYA?

ARCX321 - Excavating in the Aegean
