Based on your experience with CYA, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester or summer abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?
Being abroad was quite literally one of the greatest things I had ever decided to do while in college! After several other study abroad experiences were cancelled due to COVID-19, I had almost given up on it altogether. However, after experiencing a summer semester abroad, I have a much better sense of direction in my future studies. After leaving this program, I now know what I want to do and where I want to do it- the excavation work done on Despotiko really opened up doors for me moving ahead and I owe it all to CYA!
What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?
The best advice that I can give for prospective students at CYA is to be open-minded! From the very beginning, I had been put slightly outside of my comfort zone, and that is what allowed me to have some of the best experiences with CYA! Being open-minded and willing to do activities I normally would not have even considered is honestly where all of the magic happens, and it is hopefully a lesson that I will take with me back to the US!
Please select any of the following that apply to you, and that you would be willing to share about your CYA experience with other students:

Favorite class you took at CYA?
