Based on your experience with CYA, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester or summer abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

Studying abroad provides the time and space to freely enjoy life to the fullest. It is a time to focus on personal growth, discover a new country, and appreciate the incredible beauty around you. I loved the spirit of adventuring I found in Greece - always looking for a new cool restaurant to try, researching the next island to travel to, and engaging with Greek culture in new ways. Studying abroad reminded me of the importance of fun, spontaneity, and that some of the most impactful lessons are taught from outside the classroom. This time swimming on the beaches of Greek islands, admiring the rolling mountain landscapes, and sipping freddo cappuccinos will give you time to reflect and be grateful for these rich new life experiences.

What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?

Allow yourself to accept the uncertainties that come with studying abroad. It can be hard not knowing quite what to expect, but once you choose to be open and take it day by day, it is so freeing. Be open to new opportunities and experiences - this is where the best memories are made 🙂 you've already made the best decision by choosing to study abroad, now is the time get excited and embrace all the learning and rich life experiences you are about to partake in!
