Based on your experience with CYA, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester or summer abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?
Leaving your home country is a huge change and you learn to go with the flow. Personally, it made me realize there is always a chance to start over. Whether that be new friends or a new home in a different country you don't have to be unhappy because there is always better. Academically I was able to learn Greek and some mythology I never would have otherwise. Professionally I am just a better person because of all of the challenges of studying abroad.
What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?
Be really open to meeting new people and going to different places. Everyone is really friendly and the time goes by fast. Also, don't stick to one friend group!
please select any of the following that apply to you, and that you would be willing to share about your CYA experience with other students:
Student of color
Favorite food in Greece?
GYROS (especially from Just Grill)
Favorite class you took at CYA?
Greek Language and Culture or Greek Mythology (both were very applicable)
