The benefits of spending a semester in Greece through CYA are the amazing experiences they provide students with that helped me to grow personally and academically. The field studies provided incredible opportunities to see sites that I had only read about before spending a semester with CYA. CYA courses opened my eyes to subjects I had not studied before, helping me to mature academically. Living in Greece for a semester helped me to become independent and adaptable, skills I plan to carry into the future with me. Furthermore, CYA's network of alumni provides a future opportunity to grow professionally.
What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?
My advice for students who are planning to study abroad with CYA is to appreciate Greece in the time you have. While taking the chance to travel the continent is incredible, Greece itself has countless amazing opportunities that should not be overlooked. Prospective students should also know that CYA staff are always there to help with culture acclimation, professional opportunities and so much more. Knowing that will help to ease travel anxiety. I also advise students to take this opportunity to get to know other college students from all over the United States. The friendships and connections I made during my time with CYA allowed me to create a network of friends across the country.
