Based on your experience with CYA, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester or summer abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

The benefits of studying abroad through CYA are truly infinite. From pre-planned field trips that take you around Greece to their extracurricular activities, CYA ensures that adventure is at the forefront of your semester abroad. I default to personal development as the biggest success from spending a semester in Greece. For me, it was learning how to navigate urban development and a new, foreign language. This experience also forced me to be more comfortable with socializing with new people on the spot, something I now consider a strength.

What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?

Compare this program to others. This program is a rarity as there are at least 2.5 minimum weeks of travel embedded in the program. I wish that I knew that missing the first week of studying abroad was not the end of the world. Other circumstances kept me from flying out on my intended date, and I certainly thought my shot at socializing was out the window. When in fact, I kept meeting new people and forming new friendships up until the end of the program.
