Spending a semester abroad has helped me to become a more confident and independent person. With all of this new freedom I had to learn how to better balance academics with my personal life. It has also taught me how to adjust to a lot of change. It made me realize that travel is one of my biggest passions in life and I would love to find a way to do it professionally.

What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?

It will feel really overwhelming at first, but don't waste a second of time because the semester will fly by! When you first arrive in Greece it may seem scary to think that you will be in a different country for the next few months, but by the end of the semester, you won't want to leave!

How was the political climate in Greece different from what are you used to? If applicable, describe a time when you had to navigate a political conversation during your time abroad.

It is not taboo to talk about politics in Greece and people will openly ask you about your political views.

Briefly describe a cultural experience you had that was significant to you in any way.

Spending time at Kekkos was a cultural experience for me because I got to know the people who work there by the end of the semester. They showed me amazing kindness and hospitality and introduced me to new Greek foods and drinks.
