Eleni Kastanioti is a multidisciplinary artist working in the field of contemporary dance and performance.
She has studied the element of rhythm mainly through the Greek folk culture as a dancer and through the afrobrazilian culture as a percussionist in samba reggae bands, recognizing in rhythm a language that we all speak and a healing tool.
She studied dance at Athens Conservatoire and holds a master degree from Panteion University with a written thesis on multimediality and multimodality in contemporary performances.
She is currently involved in polyphonic singing projects and improvisational dance performances, whose common ground is intensity in the creation process and the use of the intuitive intelligence of the human body .
She has facilitated creative dance classes for children and adults in remote islands, has taught improvisation and rhythmics at Athens Conservatoire to students at pre – professional level and children and has led meditative dance sessions in groups and in private.
