CYA SITE VISIT, October 13-16, 2024

In the context of the enriching CIGL Conference hosted by CYA in Athens, attendees will get firsthand insights into the impactful internships CYA students experience, including but not limited to opportunities in the medical, legal, scientific, tech and media sectors. Notably, participants will visit the premises of one of our recent partners, the National Center for Scientific Research Demokritos. In addition to CYA courses in collaboration with NCSR Demokritos, our STEM students also undertake internships there, becoming part of a scientific community, gaining valuable lab experience, and accessing networking opportunities.

As an example of applied learning, CYA Internships bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing students for real-world challenges and significantly boosting their employability. By immersing themselves in these experiences, participants will understand that, beyond industry-specific skills, interns also develop a global perspective, adaptability, networking, and a deeper understanding of diverse work environments. This aligns with the interconnected demographics of students and internships in Greece, creating an environment where diverse backgrounds contribute to and benefit from Athens’ intercultural dynamics.

Engaging directly with the environments of these internships will provide attendees with a deeper understanding of the broader impact these opportunities have on students. This firsthand experience is an invaluable aspect of their participation in the CIGL Conference.
