I have met friends that I will keep for a lifetime, I have experienced cultures that many only get to read about, and I have been given the opportunity to travel across Europe, all at the same time. My classes directly impact my major, and I was influenced so greatly that I have changed all of my graduate school plans to pursue one specific topic that I learned at CYA.
What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?
Don't fill up all your time with academics. Take time for yourself, and plan your own trips. CYA does a lot of things, but only you know exactly what you want to do. Food is cheap in Athens, so don't worry about grabbing a gyro for lunch or stopping by a bakery for breakfast a couple times a week.
Please select any of the following that apply to you, and that you would be willing to share about your CYA experience with other students:
Accessibility, Classical Studies major, Finances, International student, LGBTQIA+ student, Mental health, Post-graduate networking
Briefly describe a cultural experience you had that was significant to you in any way.
Stopping by Kekkos in the morning to grab a coffee and do some work before class. It was such a small moment but it was the time when I felt most in-tune with the city and its heartbeat.
