You get to see so many different places and hear the stories of so many different people. It completely changes your perspectives and views on the world in the best way possible. You also get hands on experience and get to see so many archeological and historical sites. Some of my favorites classes have been my classes on the acropolis!
What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?
To do it, even if you're nervous. I can be intimidating and scary to be in new place, but you get to experience so many new things and meet so many amazing people that it makes it worth it.
How was the political climate in Greece different from what are you used to? If applicable, describe a time when you had to navigate a political conversation during your time abroad.
One thing that I came to notice is that the Greeks had a lot of questions about our ways of politics. When we first arrived here, we received many questions about what we thought about politics in the U.S., and how we felt about different parties. I mostly navigated these questions by talking about how every country has some disagreements when it comes to politics, and how democracy is so important in both Greece (as it is the birthplace of democracy) and the U.S.
