Philippos Savvides holds a Masters of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Utah (USA) and a Bachelor of Arts (with Honors) in Political Science from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville (USA).
He has an extensive experience in teaching and research on geopolitical developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East, Turkiye, Africa and South Eastern Europe as well as on EU-Turkiye relations, Greek-Turkish relations and the Cyprus issue. Moreover, he has previously taught courses on Global Democracy, Political Violence and Terrorism and Religion and Politics.
Philippos Savvides has also a rich experience in policy making having worked for the European Commission on the issues of humanitarian aid and crisis management, and for the Greek government on issues of civil protection and maritime affairs.
