CYA and SolidarityNow Join Forces to Foster Cross-Cultural Understanding and Empower Young People
We are thrilled to announce that CYA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SolidarityNow, a Greek non-profit humanitarian organization. This collaboration marks a significant step in our mission to promote cross-cultural sensitivity and empower young individuals from diverse backgrounds.
At CYA, we have always strived to provide exceptional study-abroad experiences for English-speaking undergraduates in Greece. Our commitment to fostering engagement with Greece, personal discovery, and growth remains steadfast. With the signing of this MoU, we are embarking on a new chapter that will deepen our impact and create lasting positive change.
SolidarityNow, founded in 2013, has been at the forefront of addressing the needs of vulnerable and marginalized groups in our society. Their dedication to inclusive education, livelihood opportunities, social protection and inclusion, and the protection of human rights aligns closely with CYA’s values. Through this collaboration, we aim to amplify our efforts and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
Under this MoU, CYA will serve as a conduit for interested students to participate in various programs and activities organized by SolidarityNow. These initiatives range from English and computer lessons to creative playing and administrative support. Additionally, CYA will facilitate internships for students within SolidarityNow’s support services, providing them with valuable real-world experience.
We are excited to integrate SolidarityNow into the CYA network for student volunteering in Athens. By co-organizing activities and workshops, we will create opportunities for cultural exchange, personal growth, and community engagement. Our joint efforts aim to build bridges and foster a more profound understanding between diverse communities.
CYA is a member of select organizations dedicated to promoting and supporting education abroad, fostering diversity and inclusivity, and focusing on advancing policies and practices for high-quality study-abroad experiences and the diversification and internationalization of higher education.
In addition to our affiliation with SolidarityNow, we are proud to be associated with several organizations that share our vision. These include Diversity Abroad, NAFSA: Association of International Educators, The Forum on Education Abroad, the AAECG – The Association of American Educational and Cultural Organizations in Greece, and the IIE – Generation Study Abroad.
