Dr. Despoina Kanteler is an expert in Sustainability and Emergency Management with a PhD from the University of Western Macedonia. With over 11 years of experience, she has made significant contributions in Sustainability, Disaster Management, Regional Development, Energy Transition and Geospatial Technologies. ​ Currently, she serves as a Research Associate and Project Manager at the Energy Transition & Development Transformation Laboratory (ENTRA Lab) of the University of Western Macedonia.​ Dr. Kanteler has successfully managed large-scale projects in the private sector and has extensive experience in academia, including 10 years of lecturing. ​ She is also a consultant in emergency management disaster preparedness, business continuity and sustainability. ​ Fluent in English, German, French, and basic Chinese, Dr. Kanteler is dedicated to making a positive societal impact through her work.
