Based on your experience with CYA, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester or summer abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

My time abroad allowed me to realize the importance of experiencing Culture and Community completely different from the one you have grown up within. It also instilled a new perspective on life as this time allowed for much self-contemplation and meaning. I was able to form new connections to new community, and see the importance of understanding the past to formulate the future you want.

What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?

The CYA study abroad program completely changed my life and is one of the most valuable experiences as an adult so far. I can guarantee you the program will do the same for you and CYA is a one-of-a-kind institution that has impeccable planning and better yet embodies a community character that is truly one of a kind. There is nothing I wish I knew. All of the stuff I wasn't expecting or was naive to made the experience even more fun and impactful.
