I loved getting to learn the modern Greek language as it is very unique and different from all the others I had been exposed to before. Living in Greece taught me a lot about being more minimalistic; of enjoying the simple pleasures of life; and how to be content with taking things easy. In the U.S. I am always super busy and running to and from things but in Greece I was able to slow down to take in my surroundings but to also self reflect and take better care of myself mentally and physically.

On my last day abroad I really wanted to get my nails done and wasn’t able to find a salon that could take me in so last minute. An assistant at one of the salons personally invited me to her house so that she could do my nails for me in exchange of getting to chat about life and my American life. It really showed me how nice, loving, welcoming and simply curious Greeks are of life outside of Greece or even just Athens.
What is your favorite Greek food?
Moussaka.
What extracurricular activities were you involved with in Greece?
I interned at the Metropolitan General Hospital.
