Tulsi Parikh is a postdoctoral fellow at the British School at Athens. Her research focuses on the archaeology of ancient Greek religion and, in particular, the variations of ancient religious thought and experience reflected in the material world. While her doctoral work (completed at the University of Cambridge in 2021) examined patterns of votive dedication across a number of Archaic sanctuaries, her postdoctoral work turns to the interactions between worshippers and their environment, including the built sanctuary and wider religious landscape. This work ultimately brings together different methodological approaches to achieve a more materially aware approach to the study of Greek religion.

Tulsi has published widely, including articles and chapters in edited volumes. Her book, Defining the Gods in Archaic Greece: Votive Offerings and the Material of Polytheism, is currently in press with Cambridge University Press and will be published in 2026. She was also the editor for the journal Archaeological Reports for three years and sits on the Editorial Advisory Board for the book series, New Perspectives on Ancient Greek Religion. Tulsi has taught a variety of topics relating to Classics and Classical archaeology at CYA, the BSA, and the University of Cambridge.
Tulsi is more broadly interested in the development of accessibility within Classical archaeology, in relation both to museum collections and the diversity of voices within the field. She works with local schools and migrant communities, she is on the committee of the Inclusive Classics Initiative, and she is the co-founder of the Athens Archaeology Festival, the first public festival of its kind in Athens. She has curated public exhibitions and has been an expert contributor for a number of podcasts and documentaries, including ‘Meet the Greeks’ with Mary Beard and ‘Divine Fury: Demeter and Persephone’ with Natalie Haynes.
