Living abroad can always be very transformative. Getting to know different people and their cultures, constantly making friends and trying new food, and not to mention all the extraordinary scenery... by the end of this journey, you may realize you've created so many lovely memories to last a lifetime. Of course, there can be academic, financial, or social challenges. Still, I believe you will gain more than ever imagined from CYA's wonderful courses, gain more experience and confidence in personal finance through budgeting for a whole semester, and make more friends than you expected. What advice do you have for prospective students who are interested in or planning to study abroad with CYA?

Doing more prep work for the sites you're going to visit can be especially helpful for students with a comparatively weaker background in history/archaeology/Classics, etc. It's gonna enhance your experience on site, since you'll have plenty of opportunities traveling to these amazing archaeological sites. It's also a good idea to make a budget plan before arriving and try to stick to it (with some backup funds, just in case). Eating in Greece isn't as expensive as in many other European countries or major US cities, but with so many chances to hang out and travel, it's easy to go over budget. In addition, if you're considering an internship, I'd say it can be a very interesting and rewarding experience, so go for it! Just make sure not to overwhelm yourself since you'll still have coursework to manage. CYA offers more opportunities than you might expect. I hope you enjoy the beautiful days in Athens with outstanding faculty and peers!

Briefly describe a cultural experience you had that was significant to you in any way.
I didn't watch soccer that much before coming to Greece. There was this one time we went to a game in Athens -- Chelsea vs Panathinaikos -- when we saw some of the fans passionately cheering for their team, and it really got me to rethink how different sports influence people in different countries, and how they can serve as bridges between different individuals.
